Hannah Luxenberg (Tono)

Gaming and action can come together to save the world

My career started at sixteen years old when I started writing and directing films. At age seventeen - I went straight to Hollywood where I worked on assistant producing, screenwriting, and directing professionally.

Today, I have eleven years of experience in visual production. From the creative side to the technical side of production and management. Currently, I’m the producer/project manager for augmented reality mobile applications and interactive installations. In addition, I serve as Secretary on the board of directors for San Francisco Computational Design Institute.

I’m so passionate about technology and visual experience, that I was even married in augmented reality, which was the first mixed reality marriage and marriage proposal to be done. My husband, Alberto Tono, and I are a powerhouse team. Committed to learning new software, programming languages, and ways to solve complex computational challenges. I’m thrilled by a challenge and I look toward to ways to empower my teammates in daily workflow. The gaming community has always been a home to me and I believe that we can bring gaming and action together to change the world.

Equality and Technology in Life and Being Married to the Cause

My contribution to the field of technology can be noted in my volunteer history and mentorship. Even more notable may be my marriage which is also an incredible equal partnership with my husband, Alberto Tono.

To us, the phrase Equal partnership is very important and dear to us. Meeting at Unity Technologies in San Francisco, California at a mixed reality event gave us the start to a partnership in our lives and the industry. Both knowing we were committed to our dreams, our devotion to the community and open source, and our love for one another - we have committed to helping others in a plethora of areas for growth, well-being, and innovation.

Technology is a daily dedication in our lives and we were the first to the mixed reality marriage proposal and the first mixed reality wedding with an activated wedding ring. Out commitment to each other is also a promise in our work to provide knowledge to those who ask in the computational field, to provide family focused ethical technologies, and to better the world with our work. The core of it all - is love. We both have love for the process, the team, and the product to benefit the people using them.

Alberto Tono, used the following technologies in combination for the first time to create the very first augmented Reality Proposal: Leap Motion, Meta, Unity Technologies, and the XR community. The reverse engineering of Leap Motion algorithm for hand tracking with the implementation of the capsnet by Geoffrey Hinton. In order to improve this unique tracking, they implemented the object recognition with a 3D printed ring designed by Arturo Tedeschi.
